I had to look up Tekoa.....It's barely in WA.

Great looking plane. Did you have this in Johnson Creek at the SC fly-in a couple of years ago??

Stephen - yes, he did have it at Johnson Creek a few years ago. Curly - I will let my dad tell him what modification he made to it. Too many for me to remember. Thanks for viewing guys!

Appears that Washington is becoming "shortwing country"
Welcome aboard. I think you'll like it here.
Lots of knowledge and experience here and it appears you'll bring some of your own!

I think I saw it at Johnson Creek a few years ago as well.

Hi guys: Yes, the cruiser was in johnson crk. in 2009, I hope to make it there again this year. Some of the experimental mods in the cruiser include 30" stretch fuse(20 aft, 10 fwd),custom doors, inst. panel, firewall, cowling, engine mount, wings and struts, PA-18 tail, Cessna front seats and rails. Thanks for the inquire, happy to share. Bob

I remember that now that you mention it. I will post some more of them though I shouldn't because Curly will be ordering some more tubing for Patsy when he sees them. ;) Your airplane was well loaded in those pictures with lots more space than our shorter fuselages.

Nup! Patsy stays native.

The Colt - now that's another story. (Got a cheap supplier of 4130 tubing?)

OK, BushCruiser (Sr). You have opened up Pandora's proverbial box! We (at least I) need to see lots more pictures, and get some details about what you did to build this plane. My first question is....What engine & prop is installed?
That is a very nice aircraft you have come up with, and I know that many of us are looking forward to being able to give it "look see" at some time in the future.
Thanks!!

Hi Mark. I am working on putting some pic’s together and posting. The first and most obvious mod is the fuselage. It is stretched 20” aft, between the cabin and tail, and 10” forward of the front door post. This moved the instrument panel and firewall forward 10”, and also allowed the front seats to be moved forward 10” positioning them over the empty weight center of gravity and allowing 10” more leg room for the rear seat. The front seats are modified Cessna with Cessna rails. The rear seats are Stinson 108. Wind shield is a custom fit piper PA-14. The baggage floor was stretched 20” and a large access door installed on the left side. Several custom components were fabricated including cabin doors, instrument panel, firewall, cowling, engine mount, landing gear, suspension, lift struts and supercub tail feathers. Wings are custom built super cub ,with “2” 18gal tanks each. Power is from a Lycoming 0-360 180hp swinging a hartzel HCC2YK constant speed prop. To date 180hrs logged and no complaints. Performance is like flying a supercub with the comfort and speed of a pacer.
Thanks Bob

My burning question now is "How long did this take ?". It would seem that however long it took it was worth the effort.
Fantastic!!

Bob,
See I told you people would like the Cruiser, He didn't mention the Cruiser also won Homebuilt Grand Champion, Plans built Aircraft at Arlington in 2009. I have seen Bob load 4 guys and get off in 600 feet. This thing performs like a Supercub, with a faster cruise speed.

Oh yeah, He has the Fuselage jig sitting in the hanger.

The Bushcruiser really looks like a nice plane. Is this something you came up with? are there plans?
I think more than one person on here would be interested.

I have had the chance to fly Bobs bushcruiser a number of times and I can tell you that it is "sweeeeeeet". I flew the Alaska bush for a couple of Years and I can truly say that it is a perfect 4 place bushplane ( it wasnt Bobs plane that I flew in Alaska). It can fly really slow or go fast, it has a large cargo area and if you need more room just take out the rear seat. Its also equipped with 4 eighteen gallon tanks. The only thing its missing is a set of nice big tundra tires...By the way Bob named his plane THE MISTRESS..

Maybe he can win the Bushwheels at Johnson Creek this year. A Tri-Pacer owner here won them last year. :)

I've been working on and flying a PA-14 this winter and it is a sweet plane. I assume that it would fly very similar to a Bushmaster.

I've put 31 BW's and extended 18 gear, can't wait to get it done and test fly it again.

Thanks Dave.. Stephen: What engine is on the PA-14?

Just a concept design. I am thinking about making up some drawings in the future.
