I have purchased two aircraft oil coolers. one large and one small. Both appear to be made of brass? and are very heavy. Are they always made of brass, not aluminum? If they are made of aluminum, can someone recommend a model for the equivalent of 115-125 HP?

The small one is the cooler used only on the fifty Pacer. It was made by Harrison for the 290D. If you have the SWPC drawings you could mount it on the firewall with a inlet scoop on the back of the baffling. The cooler probably works best as a supplemental cooler for the lower hp engines without a vernatherm.

I used the corvair oil cooler.

Piper used the brass ones originally. The 115 hp Lycoming O-235-C1 didn't use a cooler.

If you decide not to use the smaller one and are interested in selling it let me know. I would like to buy it. Thanks Rob

No Idea what it is worth but if I can sell it for enough to buy an aluminum one, ($60) Id be glad to. Help both of us out.
