Anyone have any extra #120 W.B. Jones springs they need to unload? The Piper drawing calls these out by name and believe it or not, the company still exists but you have to buy about 12 springs to meet their minimum order requirement (you only need 2 for the conversion).
Chris
When you use the Piper part number clamps on the engine mount, be sure to protect the mount from the clamps because the clamp is just a metal clamp and could easily gouge or scar the finish on the engine mount. Dennis
I must have missed something. What are the springs & clamps you are referring to. Are these the return springs for the steering arm. I installed the Williams dual brake pedal kit, but no springs were included in the kit. Since the Williams kit uses original Cessna pedals, there is a place for return springs on the assembly plate but no information as to whether or not springs are required. I have my interconnect still in place & replaced the upper springs in the tail section as mine were stretched to the maximum limit with no slack on the cables. Thanks in advance.

Also, what was the price for the package of 12 springs?
Bob,
The Piper drawing for what they call the "Utility Category Kit" has the Colt steering arm on the strut with a spring on each side going to an added clamp on each side of the engine mount. Then, in the tail you install two more clamps from which the W.B Jones springs are attached and connected to the aileron cables. The rudder part of the interconnect cable is taped to the fuselage tubing.
The W.B Jones springs are $1.76 each, minimum order of $25, so I was just going to buy $25-worth if no one else had any.
Chris
Chris, if interested, I will purchase what ever springs you will not want, if you want to share. If you send me a message with your phone number & best time to call, I will give you a call at you convenience.
Bob
Anyone looking to remove the aileron-rudder interconnect will need the steering arm from a Colt or buy one from Univair. In case anyone is interested, here's a complete Colt nose wheel assembly, including the steering arm, on Ebay. Dennis

Just completed the Colt steering horn mod per drawing 14926. Amazingly found all the parts. Who out there has a copy of FAA Flight Manual Supplement 401r required to be inserted in the aircraft POH? Thanks
Geeezzz I need to look into that...Supplement what? I know I have the Colt steering horn because I have both the original TriP and have held it up close to the Colt horn that is in functioning position and it is shorter. I have new springs too, and what a price for a garden gate spring I paid... Don't get me started. What supplement?
