Rocket,
This seems like a simple approach. I've passed it on to the IA.
Thanks

Brian,
I found a couple of pictures in Andy's restoration thread, but not of the assembled system. Message #260 shows the worn mounting plates and message #292 shows the mounting plates after drilling them. Given the description above, I think I see what you are doing but a picture would be nice if it's not to much bother.
Thanks
Dean
The only two pictures I can find...

Everything installed...

And a close up, with the old pin...
You can see the bearing (bushing)... it is a flanged bearing with the flanges on the inside taking up what used to be the spacer washers... I got the bearings through MSC direct and shortened them in my lathe to the original tab thickness.. The pin is a new Univair replacement...

For some odd reason I can not edit my post above...
Here is a link to what I think is the correct bushing I ordered, have not been able to find my original invoice with the part number...

Thanks Brian!
Just finished the annual.
Was lubing up the jack screw with LPS 2 and came to the conclusion that it's time to investigate the wobbly old trim handle.
How can I get a video posted?
Cheers

I have the same issue. Hopefully someone has an answer.
You have a combination of problems. More than likely the plates that the main pin is in are worn excessively. Next would be the pin is also worn at the same location as the plates. Unfortunately, the plates are welded on steel and only about .100 thick, one of the reasons why they wear out. Easiest way to fix is to ream out the pin holes and use a bronze bushing with a shoulder. I posed pictures somewhere on the thread I did of Andy's Pacer restoration. You will also want to get a new pin from Univair.
