Flap splice details. The Pacer flap is extended to 91 inches splicing in new flap spar material and using new ribs, leading edge and a hinge bracket. I moved the actuator bracket from the inboard position to the middle position which was the outboard position of the Pacer flap. The new flap has three hinge brackets. The ailerons are similary spliced to make them 102 inches and the same as the SC aileron.
Two set backs although, I still hope to make J Creek.
I had planned to avoid pulling the fuel tanks but changed my mind. Now I am waiting on new butt ribs and I have been doing corrosion cleanup. Secondly, I started working on the fuselage and I discovered that the rudder post is cracked. I wonder if my new heavy tailwheel spring was the cause. I had not planned on taking apart the tail.

Steve...
Andy's tail post was broken all the way around... and his has the 1 inch spring with light Maule tail wheel...
I really believe it is a week point of the converted Pacers... every one I have ever taken apart has been cracked at that location... sleeve it with heavy wall material at least 6 inches long and weld on a new spring perch, it will give you an excuse to get the spring angle good for proper tail wheel caster also..
