I don't believe there is any banana clips on it. 28611.jpg

This is the photo my IA showed me. Are you saying if it has the 160 pistons we need the banana clips? Is this it for what's needed?

And, I believe you need special cylinders that have few cooling rings to make room for the longer studs.

Yes, to have 160 HP on a narrow deck engine (which you have,) you need banana plates. The case also has to be fitted with longer studs to allow the extra thickness of the plates, which I’ve read can be upwards of $2000.

That engine should have low compression 150 hp pistons in it to be legal, if someone’s put high compression 160 hp pistons in it then the legality of that engine would be in question.

I think you can cut back the bottom fin??

Providing that all of the talk about 160hp is for real, the truth is you will not be the first person to have a 150 that somebody "stealth mode" dropped a set of 8.5 or 9:1 pistons and heavy wrist pins in. IF that is the case, who knows-it may never blow up or become an issue (hard to ramp check a piston). If there is some FILED paperwork showing higher compression pistons, but no banana plates, then you have an issue. I would say somebody needs to come off their price enough to get the engine and 337 done right.

Looks like from the picture you have a 150 how narrow deck engine. Would cost a lot of money and involve an engine teardown to make it a legal 160 hp engine.

Spdcrazy: In CO it would always be nice to have more power, but with the 150 you can get the mogas STC. While you're still around the front range, KLMO has mogas and it's usually ~$1 cheaper /gal than avgas. Learning how to fly and the vast majority of my experience is flying a 150 Pacer around CO. It does fine, just keep it light!

Thought the 0290d2 135hp was rated up 140hp for 5 min? 110% of 140 is 154. Can that be used?

With 91 you can still run mogas in a 160hp can't you? The autofuel stc webpage states so.
