Re: Andy's Pacer restoration thread...
How do you seal the wing root fairings behind the skylight on the fuselage?

I'm going to address that as I make the upper fairings, will be much easier to show in pictures than to try and explain in text...

Re: Andy's Pacer restoration thread...
Hey Brian
Always wondered how the root fairness worked and your pics showed it perfectly!
Thank you so much for the detailed chronology - between you and Mark (MMoyle) I have learnt so much more from such a long distance away.

Re: Andy's Pacer restoration thread...
Brian,
What did you use for the top fairing material?
"You can only tie the record for flying low."

Re: Andy's Pacer restoration thread...
FWIW I used .025 5052 for the wing root fairings and .032 6061-T6 for door panels, cowlings, eng. baffles and just about everything else. Those grades are much cheaper and a lot easier to work with and not as prone to crack, must be why Mr. Piper used it I paid a total of $150.00 for both 4X12' sheets. They were shipped from Dallas and I picked them up locally. Yea I have used 2024-T3 for 50 years.

Re: Andy's Pacer restoration thread...
I ordered the sheets from The Trident Co. in Houston and they were shipped from their facility in Dallas/Richhardson. Not sure if they have a Beaumont, TX location or not. I forgot to state the H32 Heat# to the 5052 5052-H32..
This is the first time I have used either grade since I always used 2024-T3 and some 3003-H14 before. Not anymore I'm very happy with both of these.
FWIW My neighbors bought an unpainted Murphy Moose and that whole plane is made from 6061-T6.
