Default Be Careful Who You Follow

The gravel bar was plenty long and seemed plenty hard. The landing was fine but after camping and trying to take off the next morning the small solid Maule tailwheel and the 700x6 tires didn't work so well.

But we had a solution back at the hanger.

Yes, I watch others at strange landing strips too see if they survive, before I consider following.

I had a set of 26" Goodyears at the hanger so we mounted them on my old Pacer wheels. Had a set of Bushwheels but he wasn't ready to spend that kind of cash yeat. He just needed a little more floatation to keep from breaking through. It was plenty smooth.

Thanks Steve, appreciate your help, had a blast!! That was my first off airport landing and I will remember it into our nursing home years. I have been in discussions with my financial manager (wife) to see when funds could be allocated for said bush wheels
