This thread is really great, it will make a fantastic CD when all put together. However I am eagerly awaiting the announcement that Andy is starting on the lecture circuit and
explaining to the rest of us what "words and music" are necessary to convince the "Family Exchequer" that you should just drive your airplane in for a full professional rebuild.

I'm working on Exhaust today, Trimmers STC modifies the original 0-320 system... With a 3" outlet pipe... Going to make a new shroud just to fit it... LOL...

Why not just put the Sutton on with a Field Approval?

As good as the Sutton exhaust is, IMO, it's ugly having that pipe stick out of the cowling... I much prefer the exhaust coming out of the stock rear location...

It may be ugly to some but it is absolutely beautiful when I open the cowl and see all that empty space behind the engine and that nice simple exhaust.
But wait, the best is yet to come; NO exhaust AD. Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I thinks I'll polish that Stainless Steel Protrusion.

I agonized over cutting that hole in the cowl. Anyway all those late Model high dollar airplanes from C*****na have that protrusion

A little preview of the exhaust system.... everything has already been modified according to the STC, just need to finish fitting it to the aircraft...

Cross pipes are cut in the center and an extended sleeve is welded onto one side for a slip fit... I did not weld the exhaust, took it to a friend that is a professional fabricator/welder and can weld stainless steel way better than I can...

If you didn't weld it and just used a tight fitting tube it would make a good location for a slip joint.
    Might eliminate future cracking.

That s exactly what it is now, a slip joint... About 1.25 inches of tube insertion...
