I emailed them with a few questions. Here is what they said about the filtration:

The oil filter had to meet specs required to receive certification, but it is about 30 microns.

Now, I want to compare that to what Tempest and Champion say....

Update...I took a look at both websites, and neither addressed the porosity of their filters. Each one stated that they were the leader in filtration area, but nothing on how fine the particulate needs to be to pass through the filter.

Now a question that may be not real bright....
I have an STC'ed Air Wolf Remote filter that specifies to use a 48109 filter. So, what are the legalities of adding an STC'ed filter to an STC'ed adapter? I enquired with Challenger, and received this:

It states on the STC and AML Eligible aircraft engines must have the appropriate spin-on adapter installed to accept this cleanable oil filter assembly.

Not sure if this answers the question or not? Am I reading this correctly that I have an adapter that accepts a spin on filter I am good to go?

It is STC'd to replace the comparable disposable oil filter part number. From the hundreds of paper filters I have cut open and screens I have cleaned I think it is better than the screen and maybe not quite as much filtering as a paper filter but more than adequate for our engines in my opinion. If I get all my work done I am going to install it today.

Is this filter come with an STC of any kind......or do you first have to install an STCed filter assy, then put this on?

I was looking forward to having a 50 hour oil change time with the remote paper filter. What time will you use for this?

I like it. I clean it every other oil change. It is easy to clean and way less trouble than both the oil screen or cutting open a filter to inspect.
