    Default A New Coat

A new coat of paint that is Well since Son was on leave from that Navy Pilot stuff and Grandson was off from Texas A&M for the Holidays. The question to me was "Hey Gramps lets put a new coat of paint on "J" Bird". Well what could I say, besides I needed a break from working on the Pacer. The SNJ was painted in 1994. The paint was still good just getting a little dull and some minor corrosion in spots. So I packed up my spray guns and headed for Corpus Christi. "Have Gun Will Travel" We removed all the panels, fairings, and remove/treated the corrosion along with sanding the old paint and primed spots.
After painting all the hardware was replaced with new CORRECT size stainless stuff.
After flying for an hour yesterday with none of the paint falling off we decided it was a good decision.
Is it as nice as New strip and paint $30K+ paint job? NO. Is it now a nice flat shiny $500.00 job? Yep sure is.

    Thanks Guys.
It is a real joy getting to work on projects with Son and Grandson. I had to wait 23 years for Son to be stationed close by. We try and spend as much time together as possible. It is also great having Grandson a 1 1/2 hour drive from us. Lets him come here on weekends so he can fly and work on the Piper Pacer project.
