We usually only have 91 mogas here in WNY, in Florida it was mostly 87 I could find. I think 87 octane is OK for 8.5 to 1 compression but if you are standard certificated then you must follow the stc. BTW we put a set of lycon 8.0 to 1 pistons in a A65 and the difference was significant to me. Climb out rpm went from 2300 to 2475. Great to be experimental!

Thank you very much for that info Gilbert! That is good to know. I was unaware of that STC, and probably many more...

While the subject of Auto Gas is up, are you guys seeing any negative effects from it's use? Short or long term? Well know engine shop here in my area highly recommends not using it.

Never had a problem with alcohol free gas. I know of a dozen other friends using it with no ill effects. I haven't had the issue of plugs fouling from lead either.

Been using it for over 20 years. The only difference I see is the need to pick lead balls out of my sparkplugs when I am forced to use 100LL in primitive areas without ethanol free fuel.
