Default Anyone have a 74-56 laying around?

How many times/inches can a prop be pitched? Mine's gone from 58 to 60 and back to 58. Really think a 56 would be the deal.

Looking to maybe buy/swap or repitch if it can be.

Sensenich limits the total inches of repitch to 6". If you go "up three" and "down three" to get back to your original pitch, that's still considered a total of 6". In your case, you've used 4" and have 2" left.

Check Barnstormers. I happened to look for an "O-320A2B" and there was one for sale near Aberdeen, South Dakota whereby the seller was repowering an airplane (I think it was a cub). His "lot" included the engine, exhaust (with muffler), and a 74x56 Sensenich. You could likely make a deal on the prop which would leaven a sweeter deal for someone on the rest of the lot.

Thanks Todd, how in the world do you share a barnstomers link? Every time I try it just goes to the home page. I sent the guy an email, I'll call Sensenich as well.

If you want to post a wanted ad you can do so in the classified section. It will require becoming a paying member which is $25 a year. You can follow the link under my signature. There is a 56 for sale on Cub Cragters website. I have one you can try off a Super Cub. My experience it just uses a lot more fuel but doesn't climb much better but really hurts the cruise and fuel burn. You will turn 100 rpm more than you do now and probably have to pull the power back really fast. 58" has been the best climb prop I have found for the Pacer unless you install a Borer McCauley 1A175.

    Steve,

well now Im wishing I had a 58 lying around to try. The Batplane came with the 56" so Ive had nothing else on it besides the 82 42 for floats and skis.

You think the nose wheel assembly is making any difference drag etc ?

Thanks Steve, maybe I'll leave well enough alone on the 58. Are you going to STOL Roundup?

Rocket i I always found the 58" the best for my Tripacer. 56" was just to fine and cruise was around 105. 58" still cruising 110-115 climb almost as good and with awesome techniques of popping was always in the air before 500'

never did try 82x42 prop on skis. Wish had the chance to before I sold the plane. Guess just never thought I needed it.

This is my ride, probably the ugliest and dirtiest airplane there.
