    Default Bad landing gear

    Hello all,

I shared the picture the other day of my new PA-22 I bought in MT. On my flight back to VA, I discovered a rusted and cracked landing gear. This suprised me as it is the cleanest Tri-Pacer I have seen in a long time. Thankfuly it did not collapse. I had another gear at home that I swapped with before flying it the rest of the way home.

I've seen a few rusted gear on Pipers lately. Changed our legs on a Pawnee a few years ago for corrosion.

Not good, looks like it got water in there at some point.

This is main reason I like to have my gear uncovered.

I am surprised that you have anything covered at the rate you make changes and upgrades. What's next this winter?
