Default WTB good shape lower cowl

Looking for a solid lower cowl to reuse on '56 . Mine has a few cracks and repairs, could be time to replace or buy new. Univair is pricey $2900 http://www.univair.com/piper/piper-p...cowl-assembly/

Hard to find one that isn't cracked and repaired. Here is a thread with pictures of repairs.

The big question is where are the patches located on your current one.... If your "scoop" is not too bad, and your flat metal is cracked all up, I would consider removing all the good parts and replacing the old sheet... Do minor repairs on the scoop if needed... Would be cheaper than buying new and like Steve says, hard to find any used parts that are any better.

It might be cheaper to convert you plane to a Pacer, then make a new cowl. They are easy to make........just an idea.....😀
