    Picture of the Week
There's a purely coincidental taildragger theme to this week's round of really nice photos, with the exception of the Tri-Pacer, should have remained a taildragger, in the editor's opinion. That's a particularly dynamic and beautiful image of the trike version of the Pacer by Dan Gray and earns our honours this week. Nice shot, Dan.

I agree Gilbert. It is a good looking plane as it is. My plane will always be a PA22 no matter how much I mangle it.

There is no finer, nor more beautiful aircraft than the Piper Tri-Pacer.
Any disagreement will be met with derision and an upturned nose.

I love my tri pacer, to me it just looks the way a plane should look. In all honesty I pretty much like anything that fly's. Just not to fast

I bought my PA22 in 1977. This photo taken in 1990 not long before the TW conversion in 1991.

1977, I was flying my 46 J3 around southern California. Where is this picture taken.

I bought my 57 T Pacer in 1984, Washington State, then converted it starting in 85.

Photo taken in front of my hangar in Taft CA. It was the closest hangar I could find after moving to Santa Barbara in 1985. Long waiting list for hangars in So Cal back then. I later leased a big hanger at Santa Ynez airport much closer but still 45 minute drive over the Hwy 154 pass. Moved to LA area in 94, and had hangars at KAJO, KREI, and since 2006 at KEMT about 7 miles from the house in Monrovia.

I based my Cub at San Fernando, long gone now. But, all these airport's bring back good memories. Hope to get down to So Cal next fall in my Pacer/Bushmaster for a college reunion.

I have been asked many times when I restored my tri why I didn't convert it. Simple answer I didn't want to ruin it. Besides we already had an original 20. Best of both worlds.

Must have been a challenge sharing the airspace with the nearby Whiteman airport traffic Stephen.
