I've recently joined a group on Facebook called "I Fly St. Louis", and it's been a nice way to organize small, local, fly-in events. There's a movie night scheduled for monday at KSET and I'm hoping it works out. It's fun to have the opportunity to attend a variety of different events when time allows.

I loved the Great Waldo Pepper. One line "You are only flying, she is only driving, I'm doing the stunt." That was just before Waldo was dragged though a barn hanging on to a rope ladder.
I've had Waldo P. in the right seat of a C-402 on the way to his Chris Craft as Lake Powell. I hauled him 8-10 times for my boss in '85.
Hey All
Saw Only Angels Have Wings mentioned. There was another good one about a group of bush pilots fronting up to the RCAF to join up during WW2 - I'm a shocker for names but can remember story lines etc. Had Jimmy Cagney in the lead role.
Anyway, for its time a good one also.
Happy Tuesday

Hi Hunter J,
Might be "Captains of the Clouds" you're recalling. I found it on youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1NG0os_-3o but it requires a fee paid from that location.
There's no love here for Islands in the Sky? It's my favorite John Wayne movie by a large margin.

Hi Todd,

I'm also a big Erine Gann fan. He spent his last years on San Juan Island. Ernie's Place is a popular lunch spot at Friday Harbor Airport.
