I would figure $50K for a properly restored airplane. I believe they are worth more but this figure comes from watching them over the years. A fully restored Pacer or Tri-Pacer would be worth more to me than a Maule or a Cessna of similar price because of condition. Most $50K Maules I have seen have original interior and covering etc. I think there are people out there that think beyond the market and look at the true value of the work done and then you throw in a little emotion and that really can effect the price.

I’m attracted to the plane because of the price point. A good mid time bird with IFR equipment, I’m shopping for a price around $25k. Keep the costs down and build time is my goal.

And if it looks classy? Even better.

That would be me. And I was actually well on the low side there.

Its a family heirloom. So what do I care what its worth? Whoever sells it in my family won't know how much money they lost when they do cause I'm taking the secret to my grave lol!

That's what I say spend the money before your kids get it.

I got easily more than a $100k in mine and I did the work. My last mod is the first mod that may have actually increased it's value. But, I don't care, it ain't for sale.

Yep If Henry Ford was to ask me how much I wanted for some of my stuff, I would have to say "Hank you can't afford it"

Anyone know what a PA-22 cost when it left the Piper factory?
What would that value be now if Mr Piper was still making them?

My 1950 my Pacer listed for $5300 in 1950. The owner traded it back in for a Tri-Pacer in 1953. Dad bought it two weeks later for $3600. The Tri-pacer may have been a little bit more I think.

Photos of 1959 models and prices. Over $10K for fully loaded Tri Pacer.

Don’t forget inflation due to insurance premiums. I’d bet we’d see around $180-250k
