below are some pictures of my installation of new baffles using Vans kit pieces.

I also find it interesting the drastic difference in temperature performances from plane to plane. I do not have a thermistor installed, I do have an AirWolf remote oil filter installed in addition to the #4 rear baffle oil cooler mounting. I normally run with an additional cover over the oil cooler opening in the baffle. I have the oil cooler spaced out by using washer between the oil cooler and the baffling, and then have a block off plate that I can slide into place. With this approach, if I needed to, I can adjust the amount of block with alternate slide in plates. With this in place, even in the summer months, I usually see between 170-190 degrees oil temp... I have an EI digital oil temp/pressure gauge, and also have the UBG16 full EGT/CHT monitor.

if the outside temperature gets to the 40's, I also run with a cowl block winter kit... and still sometimes struggle to get oil temp up to 180, let alone above that.

I guess you guys do these as Owner Produced Parts since they are not available from Piper?

So I just looked up the price for the vans baffle kit for the O-320 and about fell down, only $290?!?
That's so cheap it makes me want to change mine just because. That and to get the flywheel block off.
I dont have a cooling issue, but thinking down the road and have been toying with the idea of a lycon build and have been told they run on the hot side (makes sense) .

That is the price of admission. There is a lot of work involved. Somewhere I have a set of templates I made to trim them to size.

Still though, if I remember airforms wanted $1100 for their set.
That's a fair amount of man hours trimming (especially when you have more time than money).
