That is the Brazos River and it is public land up to the high water mark. Some said we were illegal because "moter driven" vehicles are not allowed on the river. A meting on a gravel bar with the local game warden cleared that up when he check my interpretation of the law. Our wheels are not driven by an engine, we are like an airboat with wings. I was pretty relieved after he climbed up the bluff to get cell service and came back and informed me that after reading the law that he and his boss agreed with me. We do have to be curtious, some of the local deer hunters have gotten pretty upset with us so even though we can legally land in areas we have chosen to avoid certain parts of the river during deer season.
Here is a website that will show you who the land owners are and public lands.

From Erie a nice ride would be to Old Forge NY. A friend of mine owns the airport there. It is private but very welcoming. A short walk to a mini resort with a waterpark, lake and plenty of motels. They used to have loaner bicycles at the airport but not sure if they are still there or have air in the tires. I can get contact info for the owner if you're interested. He's in my EAA chapter. Sentimental Journey would be good too and not to far.

We just dug KERI out of 63+ inches of snow. Forecast is for another 12-18 inches starting tomorrow morning through Saturday. Anyone looking for snow is welcome out this way!

New Years day is going to be chilly here @ fcsted 61.
Might be nice if it is not blowing though.
