Freezing rain in the forecast for the weekend but 50s today! Exercised my airplane to commute over and give two lessons in what I have come to call the "Unicorn Pacer." She's s little rough around the edges but everything works and the engine runs well.

The Pacer in the foreground is a 1950 PA-20-115. It originally had narrow gear (like all Pacers then) but it has an O-235 and no flaps, I haven't seen a production list but it sounds like they didn't build many of them! Here is the thread discussing them:

    Default Winter has arrived

Snow like this yesterday afternoon! Too much fun flying, oh and packing down new tie down in snow shoes, wing and engine covers in snow shoes, pushing and pulling into tie down in snow shoes... you get the picture

My lady friend took this as I was going around do to a cub stuck on the strip

Playing in the deep snow! Noticed some overflow in my track about two hours after I landed. Not enough to cause an issue but it got my attention!

We never had a real winter in Northern Virginia. The most we had was about 2” of snow at one time. We had a couple of good stretches of cold temperatures, but that’s it. Even the ice runway at Alton Bay in NH was only open for only about five weeks and had to close because of the warm temperatures. I’m glad I landed on it the first week it opened.

I guess it’s time to get ready for Sun & Fun!
