    The right tank filler neck had a crack almost all the way around the base of the neck. they took the tank to Wag Aero. yes the parts supply house, they also have a complete fabricating shop on sight. they removed the old neck and welded a complete new neck on the tank. Like Steve's picture without the rivet holes. I unfortunately have no ( I mean) zero sense of smell. you could kill a skunk behind me and not mess up my dinner. So I do not know how long the plane has had a gas leak. probably a couple of months

    If it was leaking bad you would have started seeing stains on the bottom of the wing and then the coating start coming off. Sounds like a good catch on your mechanics part.
