Re: Landing Light Nose Bowl
This is interesting and clever, but a bit confusing.
The upper clamp is on the fixed, unmoving weldment.
the lower clamp is on the steerable part that turns with rudder pedal inputs.
And I think those PAR36 lamps have a specific trapezoidal pattern, and are normally mounted with the terminals on the horizontal axis, not vertically.
How does this work?
Cheers,
GG

Re: Landing Light Nose Bowl
That is also a creative installation! I too am curious about the bottom clamp being on the moving portion, while the top one is not.
Here are pictures of what mine looked like before I removed both the plate and the light. Disregard the poor wiring job: that’s what gave me pause and caused me to look into this light installation in the first place.

Re: Landing Light Nose Bowl
The light moves with the steering. The upper clamp is actually hinged, while the lower clamp is fixed to the light.

Ah, gotcha. That sounds like it works pretty well then. Does it bite into your paint job too terribly?

Mattingly,
That is quite the pic! I may be slightly jealous.
Unfortunately, that doesnt help much: the cowling shape on a Colt with an O-235 doesn’t really have room to accommodate the light there like yours does (I would love to be proved wrong, of course).

Re: Landing Light Nose Bowl
Did you ever get the 337 for the landing light on the front strut? We are looking for the same. Who is Tom T and do you know how to contact him?

Re: Landing Light Nose Bowl
No I did not, sorry. Good luck!
