Cool Photo of PA22 Dash ashtray <?>

Wanted : photo of the ashtray on top of dash in PA22 (1956).
Local aircraft wreck yard has buckets of trays, but getting the right one would help to have something to go by.

Checked several parts aircraft, none had ashtray.

Not into smoking, just want to close the hole in the dash.

That hole is very important, and is proof that Piper really had an eye to the future when they designed the PA22 (the finest aircraft conceived by the mind of man!)
I run the power cable from my portable GPS that sits on the panel, thru the ashtray hole, to a National Airplane Parts Association Cigar lighter splitter tastefully mounted to right footwell panel, high above front passenger's right knee. It has a USB port too, super handy.

Anyway I will try to remember to look for my original ashtray in the hangar and post a photo tonight.

I would like to find both the front and rear ashtray for a restoration of a 53. If anyone has or knows where I could find one please let me know!

I would assume that if you were to search the antique car parts websites for about the same model year fords you would find them. I know that's the case with the door handles and trim cranks.

There are a couple boxes of ashtrays, easily 50 if not hundred, not exagerating. Challenge us that likely you have to go in person and dig through.

Picked out a good one for '56 PA22
