Can you post a picture? I have some tips but not sure what they are.
They are the droopiest tips that you can get for a short wing. They are effective. I have been flying with them for 20+ years. But, I've just ordered a set of carbon fiber Sullivan's. It should cut about 7 pounds which will help roll rate....a bit. I'm most interested in their effect on cruise speed. I don't expect a change in stall as they are both effective.
The Starduster is my baby, I bought it for the engine and just couldn't strip it. Both both wings were shashed from going off a RWY and hitting a fence. It's a dream to fly and cruise around but I'm told not a hard core acro plane. I've never really done any acrobatics and just learning so it's great. The Twin Bee is one of eight still flying and belongs to a friend of mine. I just picked it up and flew it from NC to northern NY. It's a very different airplane to fly.
The beauty of the photo, it's a fifty foot airplane. I believe it's been repaired several times before me and the work wasn't the best. These tips are built very thin and when ripped off the wing the mounting holes go. In past repairs lay-up were done and bondo was applied which doesn't have any strength. So yes it can be repaired but this one would be like starting over and not cost effective. I'm OK with fiber glass work I built a CompAir7 which is a big fiberglass airplane.
