Default Question on an o-290 D2

Does an o-290 and an o290-D2 use the same cylinders

No, the D2 cylinders are different. The D cylinders are similar to O-235 ones.

I actually was wanting the same info, but what are the PN# on the cylinders and where are they located? I bought a chrome O-290D cylinder per the OH tag, but the other tag on the cylinder says O-290D2. I am now confused on what I have..! Anyone have any ideas on part numbers?

the easiest way to tell is look at the fins below the intake and exhaust port
if the fins come to an upside down "V" (^) it is a D2 cylinder- if the fins are straight it is a "d " cylinder

    hope this helps
