We are a young and small enthousiastic group of three Canadians who bought a Tri-Pacer together and are in the final process of converting it to a Pacer. We found a Colt with the landing gear we needed in Wisconsin (Grantsburg, just NE of Minneapolis). Somebody local had an appointment in Wisconsin and was willing to bring the fuselage back for us. Unfortunately his appointment got cancelled...
Now we are looking for another way to get the stuff we need here.
Is there anybody in that area who could use a free Colt fuselage (with paperwork, N-registred, converted to tailwheel, frame has been painted and has new fabric) and knows how a wrench works?
There are several things on the fuselage we need for our project that we would like shipped to us. Guessing it is a days work; half a day to remove the parts (fairly easy, easy access) and half a day to stuff everything in a crate (it will fit on a pallet, engine container). We will pay for the shipping of course.
We are located in Calgary Canada.
Just send me a message if you are able to help out or know somebody who does!
Thanks Abypacer! Got in touch mit Joel today and he is willing to help us out!
We bought a 1954 Tri-Pacer two months ago with a 135hp D2 engine. We are converting it to a tailwheel and are currently almost done replacing the fabric (only fuselage left).
After that it is various small items that need to be adjusted/fixed and paint.
We are hoping to have it ready December 18 2 o'clock.
For two of us this will be our first experience with tailwheel flying. Personally I just got my PPL this summer and will use the Pacer to get my commercial license.
