The ones I have came from the front and rear seats of Super Cubs where there are mods to install an underseat storage under the rear seat and battery under the front seat. Would have to measure them. They just zig zag into the holes in the seat base and get hog ringed to each other.

Still trying to figure out how to address seat re-upholstering issue. Will pull the co-pilot seat today and remove the dress cover to see what it like. Has anyone used Aircraft Spruce cushion foam?

Some pictures are posted here that you might find useful. http://www.shortwingpipers.org/forum...age4&styleid=4
I am not familiar with the foam Spruce sells but I have sat in the seats made with Temperfoam and love them.

Pulled the co-pilot seat today. Started by removing the backrest cover. Found several handfuls of what appears to be exhaust residue blown up inside the cover. I'd found similar residue around the seat belt attachment between the seats when I installed Hooker harnesses a few months ago. Suspect this contamination was due to weak bungees that did not pull up the fairings under the bungees. Any comments appreciated.

I would open the belly and inspect area under the floorboards and see what is going on. AD 57-22-01 Requires that annually.

Thanks for the input Gilbert. AD not applicable to my serial number. Any other observations? Residue is a black powdery substance a bit gooey.

There is a rear heater vent that exits right under the back of the front seats. Do you have the bungee cover/boot that wraps around them under the seat?

Yes have covers. No rear heater as the airplane is a Colt.

Ah, forgot that fact. Can you post a picture of what you described?
