Vacuum pump

My A&P is telling me that vacuum pumps for our airplanes, (mine is a 57 150 hp Tripacer) are almost impossible to find, new or used. This just doesn't sound right. It's probably been addressed in another thread, but I'm swamped at work right now. Can anyone shed any light on this? As usual, any help would be deeply appreciated.

When our wet pump failed we replaced it with a dry pump. We still have the original and was wondering about the cost to have it rebuilt. Ouch

Wet pumps are much more reliable than dry pumps. Typical dry pump lasts about 500 hours, wet pumps have been known to keep going through several engine overhauls. Just need to keep the oil separator clean.
