Safe Flight Stall Warning?
Do any of you still have the Piper installed SAFE FLIGHT STALL WARNING installed and working?
I just got mine working for the first time and remember reading in one of the flight tests the journalist commented it came on about 10 mph before the stall and Piper designed it that way as a safety factor.
In testing mine I find in an aggressive stall the warning comes on an instant before the nose drops.

Re: Safe Flight Stall Warning?
The pictures you posted has adjustable mounting plates so the point where stall warning comes can be set.
The Piper installed warning is fixed as noted in the below picture. Piper knew where the tab for micro-switch needed to be.
My Clipper came with the appropriate hole in the leading edge and nut-seats for the attachment plate. I am assuming this original.
Again, since the update pictures posted from my iPad appear upside down until you touch on it. Come on SJ. Need a fix.
I was wrong, the first picture that went upside down was Saturday, before the update.

I have one on my plane but the indicator was U/S, I’m in the owner maintenance category in Canada and have ordered an 80db buzzer and light to fit on my panel. I’ll keep you posted on the outcome..

My 1960 Tri doesnt have a stall warning. I cant stand the noise anyway. Am I crazy for not wanting one?

You don’t need one, I believe the Shortwing gives ample warning before it stalls. When it does it’s pretty benign.
I only got mine working only because the mounting plate and nutserts were on the wing hiding the hole in the leading edge. Knowledgeable people would point out the switch was missing and others would ask what that plate was for.

Re: Safe Flight Stall Warning?
Agree with Gilbert completely, Had one not working on another airplane, found a new switch from one off ebay, installed
go it working (even though you can't hear the buzzer with head sets on) and adjusted in its bracket so it will not
disturb me. That airplane had plenty of warning like the short wings

First thing I do when towing gliders with the Pawnee is pull the cab for the stall warning.
