Where Did You Fly Today?

First flight of the year yesterday doing air work and pattern with the new co-owner of the Tri-Pacer. An experienced pilot so he did well. The first attempt at a power off accuracy landing wasn’t great, but my demo wasn’t much better! I caught him pushing on the firewall with his toes as we taxied in…it’s going to be a great partnership.

Quick flight out to Lake Wohlford today. It’s a private 1300’ strip on top of a bluff with drop offs on each end. We walked down the hill to Smokey’s Diner for lunch. And did a little hike around lake. On the way home we flew out to the coast and around Palomar’s airspace. Fun afternoon.

Got out for a couple hours today in Northern Illinois / Southern Wisconsin … nearly 40 degrees on the ground. Was able to get oil above 180!

Still a little snow cover and people out on the frozen lakes. Quite a few Iceboats out on the lake too.
