Been watching the news. Does anyone think the smoke from Canada will have an impact on Airventure? Today's air quality in Oshkosh is labeled "unhealthy". Internet says visibility is currently 4 miles. An hour ago it was down to 2 miles.

All depends day to day on the wind direction. Here in upstate NY today we're about a mile today and very unhealthy. I get a black film on my swimming pool every morning when the wind is out of the north. A lot of folks are back in the damn masks but for real this time. my wife has asthma and can't go out of the house. Out of the west clear summer day. Damn Canadians ehh. Put it out.

Best to call the FSS and get a weather and visibility report for the route you are planning.
Safe travels,

I have found this website to be reasonably accurate: https://firesmoke.ca/forecasts/current/

Arrived safely about 11:30 this morning. 1800 SM trip. Oddly enough and thanks to Jack, John, & Don I’m in the same spot as I had last year.

Perfect, looks like I am out this year, my Dad didn't want to go and my son has a new job and couldn't get off work. I couldn't bring myself to go it alone. First time in well over 20 years.
Dang it Steve, that was the whole reason I was going. Guess I'll have to find something else to do instead of pestering you with questions.
Well, some friends texted me today and asked me about flying up with them. Didn't take much arm twisting. Will be parked in the STOL Coral in a blue and white Super Cub with my husband and wife friends in their two L21 Italian Air Force Super Cubs. Let the fun begin.
