Does this mean that you have a metal bottom inside the rear set cushion that your clips are fastened/welded to?
Actually, there is no metal, my bad 😞. Like Gilbert said, it’s a plywood bottom and the clips are attached to it. If yours are missing, you can easily make them.

‘56 backseat bottom does not have any kind of board or plywood. As you can see the original seat bottom was reused when the new upholstery was installed. It is simply heavy weight canvas. The C - hooks must be brazed or welded to the tubular frame. I’m not sure how other planes backseats were made but I am pretty certain mine is the original construction.
