Big Lettering on Wing
Painting up a set of wings with the N-numbers on them. Years ago a remember seeing instructions showing how to mask off properly for the military block style letters. Does anyone know what book/article I cloud find that in?
All I can remember is the letters where 16”x24” with lines being 4” thick.

The last time I had big numbers on my plane when on my J3.

I believe the drawings and dimensions for the Tri-Pacer are in the drawings package. I will look when I get back to the hangar tonight. I remember that the “M” is a different dimension, at least in the military block lettering.

Re: Big Lettering on Wing
Thanks, that helps. I’m trying to find a layout sheet with the letters on a grid so you can scale them accordingly. I would like the shape of the letters to be “correct” so they look the same as any other plane done up with the original wing N-numbers.

Re: Big Lettering on Wing
Hello,
Maybe check out aerographics.com
They have a lot of graphics and may be able to provide the size and any colors you may want. They provided a set of decals to label my TP in the exact red color of my original instrument panel. Helpful folks.
