I'm currently still working on wing details. Getting flap and aileron brackets cleaned, rust protected and aligned, replacing drag wires and ribs. James Smith is making great progress on on my fuselage. I'll be away most of September hopefully I can pick the fuselage up when I return. I will have a couple weeks work welding in my stick, door frame and skylight mods. Before covering anything I will fit the wings and measure for the struts.

Does two part epoxy primer go over rattle can primers satisfactorily? I don't want my fuselage setting unprotected from rust while I'm working.

Yes, we use a self etching spray can primer for temporary protection and then top coat with 2 part epoxy primer.

Why do you prefer the stag knot? Speed of the tie?

Yes, I can tie it faster and I'm happy with the result.

I finally started trammeling the wings. 40 years ago, when Univair built these wings, someone messed up and offset one wing's aileron brackets 5/8" the wrong way. This took a bit of work to fix and reinforce. I'm leaving the country for the next three weeks. The engine got shipped yesterday off to LyCon. My new Airframes aluminum struts are on order.

Stay home, that's why you are in this mess.

I've been using Zinc Phosphate for my initial protection.
