PA22 Aileron hinge
Hii Dear all,
I am a new member with a renovation project on a PA22-150.
One aileron has been separated from its hinge, several rivets pulled out, probably caused by an accident. Hinge has been controlled OK.
I did not find much information regarding rivet's material.
It is 3/32 diam, I am not sure about material.
My choice would be 2117-T . In someway it it a structural attachment.
But I find somewhere 1100 which is very soft for connecting a hinge top an aileron.
Expert advice would be appreciated. Exact reference if possible.

Re: PA22 Aileron hinge
Welcome Phil, They are soft AN455A rivets. If you are doing a renovation I would suggest obtaining the drawings from the Short Wing Piper Club. Invaluable. https://shortwingpiperclub.org/produ...r-drawings-cd/

I believe it comes on a USB thumb drive now.

Re: PA22 Aileron hinge
I just texted the Short Wing Piper Club president and he said the drawings come on a USB thumb drive now.

Not that your "level" corresponds to the amount of helpful information that everyone on the board will provide but I'm sure it's appreciated.

I don't know, I am way more motivated to spend more time for a donating member than someone who has been active on here for years and never donated.
