Default Looking for shop for annual on PA 22/20

    Greetings,
Does anyone have a suggestion for a shop near Daytona Beach experienced with Pa 22/20’s ? Mine will need an annual inspection and some service work done at the end of March or early April. Thanks for any direction.

    Hi Dave-----
    I know a guy------
He is the Brother of the Guy who was building the Pitts 12 in Zellwood. They were the Kimballs.(father-sone-grandson and uncle)
The Brother -- I believe his name is Jim Kimball. His shop is at the Eustis airport I believe. He is retired now- but was the head senior maintenance guy at the local FSDO... He probably has more experience in rag and tube that anyone around there now (save Kermit Weeks's guys ) Glenn that used to be at Bob White was good too - but he lives in Panama now.
    Kind of a long drive.
You can call the Kimball's factory at zellwood if you have trouble finding his contact information.

You can phone the old Pitts 12 factory where the other Kimballs hang out. They have a web page.

I think Kevin is pretty busy with Kermit's Lockheed Vega.

Luckily I have a couple of IA's that will do my annuals at my home airport. Don't want to have bad news away from home. Airplane could be stuck away from home needing expensive repair.

The last video I saw the vega restoration was buzzing along quite spectatcularly. ! Wonder if its close to done by now ?
i expect Al Kimble has contact information on the web. Anyone in the Eustus area or Sanford should know--- or Deland.
He is running his own repair shop -- so his info must be out there.

Al and Jim are brothers. Al was a heavy duty senior guy at the Orlando FSDO and retired from there about 7 year or so ago.
I understand he helped with a lot of the work with the pitts 12 project. Al opened a repair shop somewhere on or near the Eustis airport. Only met Al a couple times briefly. big harley davidson guy !
