Default Newbie here - New buy: PA22/20-150 - Looking for instruction in AZ

Hello, I'm new to SWP and recently purchased a 1952 PA22/20, 2017 ground up restoration, O320 150hp 48hrs, Univair tailwheel conversion. I'm a low hour pilot (@160hrs) looking to build time, complete TW endorsement, safely learn mountain, off runway, and float plane flying, then IFR and Commercial ratings. I currently have 4hrs in a Supercub, 8hrs in a Super D, 2hrs in Vans RVs, and the rest in C172's. I'm looking for someone who is a safe experienced Pacer pilot who can show me the Piper ropes and help me prevent an unnecessary ground loop and/or any other preventable undesirable incidents. Then of course once proficient in my new (vintage) bird, meet the great Piper community at the best fly ins. Thank you in advance for you advice and suggestions!

    Hi,

Have good insurance, and comply with their requirements for coverage in your situation.

Did you buy N7391? She's got a lot of character!

    Start here: https://shortwingpiperclub.org/chapt...izona-chapter/

I did a google search of "Tailwheel instruction Phoenix AZ" and got several hits.

    Chandler Air Service

    Classic Air Aviation
    https://www.classicairaviation.com/f...l-endorsement/

    Flight Fundamentals Inc
    https://www.ffiaz.com/advanced-flight-training

If the seller of your plane is local to you, who was their CFI?
Contact your local EAA chapter and ask around.

    Good luck!

Definitely are TW pilots local, finding an available one is the challenge. Haven't met a Pacer shorting pilot in the area.. quite yet.
