Bigger wing

I bought a 1954 Tri Pacer and wing is missing Would to replace it with a bigger wing for more lift. Any suggestions? Was think a cub wing. Appreciate any help

What is your mission with the Tri-Pacer that you think it needs more wing? It has plenty of lift for what it was designed for.

So I apparently have an option to get a different wing. I just prefer lift from a wing when I can get it. Everything is a balance with fighting drag. The original wing definitely performed

I Cub length wing on a Tri-Pacer fuselage would not be very stable. There is a correlation between wing and fuselage. Way more Tri-Pacer wings for sale than Cub and a lot less work. If you want more lift there are wing extensions, leading edge cuffs etc.

I like my short wing. It can easily fit in hangars without scrapes and bumps. It has good lift. I do hear lots of people modifying the tips - I just like the original look.

I will definitely research some owners who have done it but it’s not something is a definite for my airplane. Will consider keeping the pacer’s wing. There was an owner at Cooperstate who did it. Good info

A Short Wing fuselage with a Cub wing?

Without lengthening the fuselage control harmony would be terrible. Any increase in wing area will come with an increase in drag and resulting lower cruise speed. There are STCs to put different tips on the TriPacer wings. Some of them result in reduced roll rate. I had a PA-22-160 that was metalized with stock wings. I ran a flat pitch prop (53” pitch) and operated out of a 700’ strip. The stock wing provides plenty of lift!

I would assume it would be some sort of experimental.
