Instrument Panel Angle
Hello All,
Been lurking here awhile and have a question. I am going back together with my project..... 1957 PA22-20 150. I recall seeing it mentioned in the threads from years past and i also believe I have seen it in the piper drawings. My question is...What is the correct angle for the instrument panel when aircraft is level? i want to say its canted forward about 15 degrees. If i fudge a bit and cant it aft just a tad i can put my DG in the correct T config position. I have a new instrument panel and will be building new boot fairings as well. Any advise would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Dave

Dave, merged your post with an old thread on this subject.

Re: Panel Tilt?
Thanks a bunch Steve! Interesting discussion. So I guess it won't hurt anything if I go with a zero tilt panel. I have a zero tilt AI and if I take the 8 to 6 degrees out my dg will fit without hitting the structural tube behind the panel. This forum is the best!

Panel pitch
Where can I find info on what pitch the panel is on my '53 PA-20. I don't have a vacuum system and I'm looking to install an electric DG at some point.

Re: Panel pitch
I just looked through the drawings on the CD, and I found no reference to a panel angle. I'd say it's pretty much zero degrees....but don't take my word, someone will have done this before and know for sure.

Thanks steve.
Does the DG matter as much as the AI?

Re: Panel Tilt?
Thought I’d seen 7 degrees was called out in a drawing..set mine up at seven degrees of tilt. When I ordered a new turn coordinator for Marv’s 1957 PA22/20 from Merrill Field avionics....the parts guy said...you’ll need a 7 degree tilt...

Most of what I've read is for the 22/20 or the later panel. I'm wondering if the early that I have panel is the same tilt...
