Yeah, it looks like it got off fairly short. It doesn't look like he's steep enough to be utilizing the slots, so the extra performance must be primarily from the larger flaps. Is that a safe esitmation?

I think they are being pretty conservative at this point. They have just gotten it flying and the weather has been bad up there. The Super Cubs I have flown with slots and slats really showed their stuff in flight and landing. To get the full effect of the slot or slat it does have a high angle of attack. The biggest advantage in my limited experience has been the turns in the pattern when slow. They airplanes I have flown had a lot more solid feel when slow. Can't wait to try the Super 20 to compare.

Steve, While you are in Anchorage, lets get together. And you can get some left seat Producer time. SCB

Hey Airwrench---that would be a very cool get together. On one of Steve's last visits I had to take him by your bird so he could check it out. I am sure he will make a point of tracking you down. Unfortunately I will be in Kodiak doing circles and will miss the shows and our visitors from the lower 48. Hope things are going good for you.

Steve, I will definitely take you up on that.

Mark, I wish you were gonna be around but I know those fish and $ are callin' your name.

Got the word yesterday that the Super 20 will arrive in Graham, TX next Friday. Wesley Hebert, Dakota Cub flight test engineer and pilot will be delivering it and giving me their flight test/evaluation criteria. Mark tells me this is all fashioned after the FAA certification of the Super 18 that Dakota Cub got the Type Certificate for last summer at Oshkosh. Can't wait to get to fly this Pacer. It is about as cutting edge and radical as our 50 plus year old airplanes get. Pictures, video and of course comments to follow.

Hey, this is great!! Can't wait to hear what you have to say about it. Do you know any of the basic stats...hp, wing span (I think I read 31 or 32 feet), empty weight, prop, engine mods???

I think that Lopez would be a better place to do the testing, actually....

Mark - you keep flying and looking for the bloody fish!

I went out today (magic day) 6 hours on the water, $20 for bait, $58 parking fine (forgot to buy a launch ticket) $20 fuel, - all this for ONE lousy fish.
Should have stayed in the workshop and worked on Patsy. I really don't mind the money (better than spending it on "wastefull" things) but oh man - is Joy going to take the piss out of me when she gets home!

P.S Where is Kodiak on the map?

    Curly,
Kodiak is the piece of paradise about 250 miles west of Anchorage...pretty good sized island with some pretty good sized bears.
Spent a year there in the service, spent a lot of time since trying to figure out how to get back while keeping SWMBO (she's a real keeper).

Rodg - just had a look at Kodiak on Google Earth - sure is pretty (apart from that white wet cold stuff laying around).

Also if you have a look yourself you will notice that the airport (military base?) is "blurred" and can't be seen clearly! Bit like Roswell and the Nevada test sites.
