Thread: Books about Piper history - Vagabond period 1948

Books about Piper history - Vagabond period 1948

Can anyone suggest any books that well cover the history of Piper Aircraft during the Vagabond period? I'm looking for books that go into detail concerning the development of the PA-15 and PA-17, as well as factory or period photos of these airplanes.

    Thanks!

You might like the book by Roger W. Peperall, Piper Aircraft that covers all Piper Aircraft from the beginning. A great book - I might add.

Another is "Mr. Piper and His Cubs". Great history of Piper Aircraft.

I have two articles that were published in Air Facts Magazine. They were reprinted with permission I obtained in the SWPN. I would upload both of them here but this site will only let me upload a word doc. of 19.5k or less. PM me with your Email address and I will send them tio you.

One article was written by Pug Piper about designing the VAG. The second artlicle was written by Leighton Collins in 1948 about ferring an early Vag from Lockhaven.
