The chap I bought my plane from was installing an O-360 in a PA 22 on a field approval. It should be about done by know. Last time I chatted with him he was doing the rigging.

There are NO "STC'S" to do an 0-360 on the "Tri"-Pacer. Only on converted Pacers. The only STC to do the PA-20 and -16 that I know of is Eddie Trimmers. Our STC is for PA-22's converted to PA-20 only. We have been tinkering with the idea to do it to the Tri-Pacer but, first we need to come up with an engine to do it with.

Biggest problem with an 0-360 on the "Tri" gear is an 0-360's carburetor is 3 inches lower and 3 inches farther forward than a 0-320. That puts the carb heat box right in the middle of the nose gear. Hence the reason no one has went after an STC. We have been thinking of going with a PA-28 or Grumman style air box that routes the fresh air from the side of the carburetor and putting the air filter in some other location. Most likely on the rear baffle.
