    Todd,

If you are still doing a carbon fiber nose bowl please let me know.

Steve, Do you know if Randy Apling still makes and sells these for the PA-22? I'm in the market for a new nose cowling and would like a carbon one and horizontal split would be a nice option too. Where else might I get one? Thanks.

Randy makes them for the Super Cub and they can be adapted to the PA22. Randy Apling carbonconceptsak@gmail.com

Thanks Steve. I contacted Randy last week and found him ready to provide me a new split nose cowling, but elected to repair my original metal one more time. I found Univair offers an oil cooler scoop and that's what is cracking apart on mine, due to oil cooler contact over many years. New cone mounts fixed the contact issue. Drilling out the old rivets tonight as the new part should arrive in a couple days.

Before I replaced my engine mount rubbers, the oil cooler chafed a few spots thru in my cooler scoop.
I cut out two thin rectangular aluminum patches that covered the full bottom of the scoop, and riveted them on inner & outer surfaces.
New engine mount rubbers, new soft rubber bumpers on bottom of cooler, and overhaul & dynamic balance the prop should keep it from getting damaged for many years.
