Default A+P sign off for paint repair?

If a paint repair is performed on the fuselage, such as repainting a 7 " x 12" spot where paint has peeled, would an A+P sign off be needed?
    Thanks

No need, too minor. Not structural and it is not an airworthy issue. Someone well quote the FAR. I would not even worry about putting something this minor in the aircraft log book...fabric work...yes, small painting no need.
