Re: AD 57-22-01 for fire hazard periodic inspection
Steve,
Do you know the part number for this kit to eliminate the 57-22-01 recurring action? The Piper SB calls for 754-237, but I notice that's the same p/n for the AD 60-05-03 seatbelt kit, too.

Re: AD 57-22-01 for fire hazard periodic inspection
I recently purchased the three pieces from Univair to do this but haven't completed the job. They are P/N U14972-000 left moulding, P/N U19972-001 right moulding, P/N U14973-000 upper moulding.

Re: Boot Cowl & Firewall
When I tore mine down the sealant was the same grey putty that was used to seal the wind shield. Number six screws, washers and nyloc nuts. The anti chafe tape was secured with round head number four machine screws and tinnerman nuts...

Re: Boot Cowl & Firewall
Hi Jim,
The last time I had my windshield out I made an access panel over my dash. Comes in handy now and then, like the recent tach cable lube. Pretty much able to sit in the seat and work behind the dash.

Re: Firewall-to-boot cowl fasteners
Jim, Look at the previous posts here. I merged your thread with another on the subject. PRC works well just hard to get back off.

Re: Firewall-to-boot cowl fasteners
Thanks Steve, Good info in those post. My plan is to attach the 1" COWL CHAFE CLOTH from ACS to the firewall and install the boot cowl with #6 counter sunk mach. screws and stop nuts. Then more Chafe on top of the cowl. The reason for the Chafing on the firewall is to take up some of the slack. New firewall is a little smaller than the old one and the cowl will not snug up. Anyway that is the plan as of now. I'm sure if I tried PRC the plane and I would be covered in it. Kind of like Po Seal and Pipe dope
Thanks,
Jim (the other one)

Re: AD 57-22-01 for fire hazard periodic inspection
This topic came up on compliance with AD 57-22-01 during a pre-purchase and I found the previous thread with pictures so I merged the threads. Hope this is helpful.
