I linked the two threads together. Lots of excellent information on those CDs.

Default how to order plans cd's

    Hello all,

Please pardon my frustration....I'm sometimes subject to impatience. I've read that there are cd's available that have PA- 20/22 plans for the structure on them but I'm darned if I can find them. I am interested in building a Pacer to be in the EXPERIMENTAL category ONLY. If these plans do indeed exist, can anyone tell me how I might get them? Also any recommendations on how to certify in Ex.Cat. would be greatly appreciated. I know it's being done and I don't want to have to go through field approvals or other FAA horse hoops trying to get major alterations/mods approved by these nitwits. ( Ask me and I'll tell ya' how I really feel about them. Ha! )

Any responses that would rather stay off the web can, please, send me a private email. Thanks everybody!

Is this the drawing PA-22 CD's you're looking for?

By the way, don't be such a stranger, looks like you've been on the forum a few years now.

Yes Bryan, that is what I was looking for, thanks very much. Do you think the drawing cd provides enough information and details to scratch build a Pacer?

I will defer to those who know the drawings CD much better than myself to answer your question. I am curious why you would consider starting such a difficult, lengthy, and costly project.

Don't know that I will actually, but i'm exploring possibilities. I certainly would have a donor airframe for usable parts. How many parts...that is the question... because i'm serious about staying in the ex.cat. If that turns out to be impossible I probably won't pursue this venture. No way to recover your expense for a ground up build.

Years ago Piper sold the Vagabond Type Certificate to someone, gave them the drawings and then backed out. The family donated those drwaings to the Short Wing Piper Club. They digitalized them and offer them for sale. I would think you could scratch build using both the Vagabond and regular Short Wing Drawing CDs. Might be handy to look at a real airplane from time to time. As inexpensive as projects seem to be you can save a lot of time by buying used parts as well.
