I deal with the insurance companies a lot and an adjuster told me to insure it for what you are willing to sell it for.

If you borrowed money on it then your lender may have requirements for insured value, otherwise what Steve said.

Its all cash - am looking for comparables - saw a 150hp one with SMOH 240 and 1618 TT for $72k, and that is without IF kit or LR tanks or 180hp or any of the other extras I have ...

Feel that at a minimum I should insure for $85k

I insured mine for what I could sell it for...not what I've got into it.

Mine is insured for $125k, but I'm going to drop it to $100k. In order to get that coverage, I had to have an NAAA appraisal. I can't sell mine for this, but i wanted it covered should it be destroyed by weather.

Not sure how to answer that other than simply saying: by paying the premium. How can people buy a new Cub for $200k?

You have to prove to the insurance company that it is worth it. Like Ben said, people pay $200K for a Super Cub and it takes the same if not more parts and time to build a Pacer.
