Steve, thinking about removing my auxiliary fuel tank and system. How difficult is the job?
Never use the tank and im not a fan of having fuel in the cabin

Would be pretty straight forward, just the removal of parts and plug. I will look for my pictures of one installed nd post.

The fuel pump and on/off valve under the seat. Need to extend the fuel line from where it now goes into the pump to the gascolator just below it.

Tank just bolts down with straps and an inspection cover over the hole where the filler neck came out.

I removed mine years ago. It is not a big deal as Steve says. Also, need to do a little fabric patching.

This maybe a stupid question but will i need to drain the right tank. Or just pull the aux tank and leave the pump and valve with a plug

You would need to drain the right tank, no way to shut it off to remove the valve unless you plan on leaving the system installed and just capping the line out of the pump. Probably get more for the tank if you sold the whole system.

On a pipe plug I would use EZ Turn (fuel lube) or Loctite 592. I looked back at me pictures and realize all you have to do is remove all the parts and plug the top of the gascolator. Loctite 592 is PST Pipe Sealant with PTFE and is what Continental calls out on all of their pipe fittings. Won't gale the threads.
