Default Cub Crafters elevator gap seals

I've heard Cub Crafters now offers elevator gap seals, so requested a brochure (attached). It certainly is a simple mod, easy on, easy off. Anybody see or try these? Hey Tadpole, what's the skinny?

They're dirt simple, effective, and nothing fancy. So far only approved on PA-18s.

Folks have been doing the same thing with tape on like the Maules and it seems to increase elevator effectiveness at slow speeds. We played with the Cub Crafters seals at New Holstein a few years ago, it was simple to install and effective.

Very familiar with how they work, effectiveness varies based on tailfeather shape and surface area. It no doubt will be better, but how significant is my question.

Those look like they would work better than tape. They just need to get them STC'd for our airplanes.

TadPole-is that your new plane on your avatar?

No I don't have an airplane. That's Paul Claus's PA-18 up in Alaska.

How long do you think it will be before you can pick one up?

I don't know. I'm sure not as soon as I wish.

Tadpole - could you find out if the gap seal material available in lengths without the STC? It would have a ready market with experimental builders.
